Book$mart

Book$mart is a convenient way for users to post and sell unneeded textbooks. No money is transferred through Accudemia, it’s only a platform for posting and selling between users.

This is the main page you would see when you launch Book$mart from your Accudemia account. The posted books can be seen here.

Browse Postings: filters to sort books based on specific needs.

  • Scope
    • All: All books that are posted in Book$mart will be shown.
    • My College: Books posted in my college will be shown.
    • Other Colleges: Books posted by users at other colleges will be shown.
  • Condition
    • New: The book posted is brand new.
    • Like New: The book posted is in like-new condition.
    • Excellent: The book posted is in excellent condition.
    • Good: The book posted is in good condition.
    • Fair: The book posted is in fair condition.
    • Salvage: The book posted is salvage.
  • Book Type
    • Hardcover: The book is a hardcover copy.
    • Paperback: The book is a paperback copy.
    • Digital: The book is a digital copy.
    • Other/Not Specified: Shows all other book types.
  • Price
    • Min: Input minimum price requested for book.
    • Max: Input maximum price requested for book.

My Postings

This is where you can see the books you have posted in Book$mart. There are filters you can select from to see the posting status of the books, such as active, inactive/expired, and trash. You can edit, inactivate, and delete postings from this page.

Post Item

This is where users can post their textbooks to be sold. First, you can either enter the ISBN of the textbook or select “Continue without ISBN” to input the data manually. If you have the ISBN, then you can look it up by ISBN, some information may be filled in automatically based on the textbook.

After you enter information about the textbook to be posted, you can click “Save Changes” on the bottom to post the item for sale. You can add the title, description, pictures, price, condition, what semester it was used, and other various book information.

Messages

This is where you can see the messages you sent or received about posted textbooks in Book$mart.

  • Inbox: Messages you have received about textbooks you posted in Book$mart or replies to messages you sent about other users regarding textbooks they listed can be seen here.
  • Sent: Messages you have sent to other users can be seen here, regarding textbooks that you have posted or they have posted.
