SI (Supplemental Instruction) Attendance

How to Access: Centers > SI Attendance
Purpose: The purpose of Class Attendance in Accudemia is to track the visits to a specific class. You can manage the attendance on all the classes you have that current semester or view old semesters as well. You can also choose a specific session you want to look at throughout the day.

Manage Attendance

The following steps are used to Manage Attendance of a specific class:

1. Select Class

  • To find a specific class you can filter the search by looking for the Term, Name, the CRN (Classroom Room Number) or you can manually look for it on the main page. When you have found the class you can click on it to move forward

2. Select Session

  • To find a specific session you can filter the search by looking for the Location, or Session Date. You can also manually look for it on the main page without the filter but they make it easier. When you have found the session you can click on it to move forward.
Important! If the Session dates do not show up on this step you can click the HELP icon (top-right of the screen) and then select the “Contact Administrator” option in the pop-up menu to explain this issue. More than likely the days of the session were never uploaded or manually added.

3. Take Attendance!

From this Class Session management screen, you will call the roll for this session manually or view the statuses based on swipes at the Class Sign-in Kiosk:

From this Class Session management screen, you can filter by these statuses:

  • Show Students (Present):
    • Tardy
    • Excused
  • Show Students (Absent):
    • Beyond Cut-Off
    • Excused
NOTE: You need to click the Apply Filters at the top of these filters to refresh the view.
TIP: If you selected the wrong session Class or Class Session go back by clicking on either:

CHANGE CLASS or CHANGE SESSION

Assigning Attendance Status to Students

Students in the SI Attendance section of Accudemia can only be marked as Present or Absent. There are other statuses to set for students and hopefully, these explanations of each section will help:

  • PRESENT STUDENTS: The students shown in this section were the ones that were Present in the class or marked as Tardy but still considered Present. The reason for the tardy will be listed as shown below:
  • BEYOND CUT-OFF / EXCUSED ABSENT STUDENTS: The students shown in this section were the ones that were either signed in Beyond the cutoff time allowed or Excused but still considered Absent from the class. Excuses will be displayed as shown below:
  • ABSENT STUDENTS: The students shown in this section were the ones that were Absent to class and never signed in. All students who are registered show up in this section until their status is changed or they have signed in at a kiosk. Not much other details are provided as shown below:

The students will appear in each of these three sections when their status is changed from the default status of “Absent”.

You can customize your view in any of these sections by:
  • Page Size: the range goes from 15 to 100.
  • Clear All: to get rid of all the selected values.
  • Show: To show selected or unselected items.
Mark as Present

If a student is present but didn't sign in at the Sign-in Station/Kiosk or you want to manually change their status:

  1. First, select the student(s) that are shown as Absent by checking the checkbox next to each of the name(s).
  2. Then at the top of the page, click the  Mark as Present  button.
  3. After the pop-up message stating Are you sure you want to mark selected students as present? is displayed, simply click Yes and the student(s) should be marked Present.
Mark as Absent

If a mistake was made or for whatever reason, a student has another status, there is also a way to manually change their status back to Absent:

  1. First, select the student(s) that were marked Present, Tardy, or Excused by checking the box next to the name(s) in those sections.
  2. Then at the top of the page just click the  Mark as Absent  button.
  3. After the pop-up message stating Are you sure you want to mark selected students as absentees? is displayed, simply click Yes and the student(s) should be marked Absent.
Mark as Excused/Tardy

If you want a student to be marked as Tardy/Excused because they were late or absent for an excused reason you can manually change their status by:

  1. First, select the student(s) that were marked Present or Absent by checking the checkbox next to the name(s).
  2. Choose from one of 2 options:
    • If their reason was Excused, then at the top of the page just click the Excuse button.
      • Type the reason to excuse the student in the next field. Note that this status is the same as Absent essentially, but just provides a reason.
    • If they are Tardy, then at the top of the page just click the Tardy button.
      • Set the Tardy By time (in minutes). Note that this status is the same as Present essentially, but just provides extra details.
  3. Click the Save button for the status change to take effect.

Add/Remove Student

  • To Add a student, start by clicking the Add Student button at the top of the page. Then select the student you want to add and click the Accept button.
  • To Remove a student, you can select any of the student(s) from the various sections by checking the checkbox next to the name(s) and then clicking the Remove Student button. A pop-up message will appear stating Are you sure you want to remove selected students from this session? and you simply need to click Yes for the student to be removed.
