Setting up Classroom Attendance

To edit College Classroom Attendance tracking settings, go to: Administration > Control Panel > Class Attendance. Note that this is an institution-wide setting. To save changes once finished, click the Save Changes button at the top of the screen.

Tolerances

  • Tardy Period: Set the number of minutes students can sign in after the class start time before they are considered tardy.
  • Cut-Off Period: Set the number of minutes students can sign in after the class start time before they are unable to sign in for the class.
  • Duration: Set the default duration for classes.
  • Allow Students to Sign-in Early By: Set how many minutes before the class start time that students will be able to begin signing in at the kiosk.

Referrals and Referrals Emails Notifications

If using Referrals, determine whether students will be able to be referred for classes they are not currently enrolled in by checking or unchecking the Referrals box. Determine whether students will receive notifications when Referrals are updated in the “Referrals Email Notifications” section.

Unresolved Sign-ins

This section determines how the system should behave in certain situations that would result in unresolved or incomplete sign-ins.

  • When an unregistered student signs into a class: Specify the procedure used when when a student signs-in to a class in which they are not registered.
  • When encountering a sign-in when there is no class: Specify the procedure used when a device scan is not assigned to a class.
  • When encountering duplicated sign-ins in the same class section: Specify the procedure used when duplicated sign-ins in the same class session are found.
  • When encountering multiple sign-ins at the same time: Specify the procedure used when sign-ins are found when there are multiple classes at the same time in the same classroom.
