AccuClass Data eXchange (ADX)

This Windows console utility will let you easily import/export information to/from your AccuClass account! With this, you can run your scheduled import/export processes.

Download ADX

Step 1: Login into AccuClass, once on the home page navigate to Advanced Options and select “Import Data”.

Step 2: Next you will click the “Download ADX” button.

Step 3: In your browser's downloads you will see the setup.exe tool for ADX. Click the setup.exe to start the installation.

Note: If a popup asks to protect your PC click “more info. This will show a new “Run anyway” button.

Step 4: Windows will pop up with the install window. You can click “Install”.

Step 5: That's it! The install tool will then launch the application to the login page. You are ready to login and prepare your import jobs.

Note: Email and password are not the ones used for SSO but specifically AccuClass. The domain will be from your AccuClass URL.

Creating Import Jobs

Step 1: Click the “New Import Job” button in the top left of ADX.

Step 2: Click Next on the screen seen below.

Step 3: Select the file with the three dots. Click next when the file path has been set.

Step 4: Map the fields to the file headers. Note that these do not need to match exactly. Once all fields are mapped click “Next”.

Step 5: On this screen you can confirm the number of items being imported. Then click “Next”.

Step 6: Next select any Importing Behavior settings you wish to use for this import job. Then continue with “Next”.

  • General Tab
    • User's information
      • Skip existent users (will not be updated) - Use this option to only add new students.
      • Inactivate students not being imported. - Use this option to inactivate students not currently on the import file.
  • Registration/Enrollment
    • Overwrite students' enrollment - This option will overwrite the students' enrollment, but only the semester's enrollment being uploaded.
      • Drop all enrollment for students not being imported - This option will go a step further and remove enrollment for all students not on this file, but only for the semester's enrollment being uploaded.
Note: The default action is to only add enrollment to students for the semesters specified when no option is selected in these Registration/Enrollment settings.
  • Student Groups
    • Remove non-imported students from groups. This option will remove students from the groups being imported and only add those from this file. But it will not remove students from any other groups not being imported.

Step 7: Provide the import job with a name that will reflect what the job is doing. Last click “Finish”.

Step 8: View details to run, edit, or schedule the job.

Creating Export Jobs

Step 1: Click “New Export job” in the top left of ADX.

Step 2: On this screen you can click “Next” in the bottom right.

Step 3: Select the type of export and the file location the data will be put into.

Step 4: Create a title for the Export Job and click “Finish”.

Step 5:: After clicking on View details you can click “Run Job Now”.

Scheduling Imports/Exports

Step 1: Start by clicking “view details” on the left column under the import job and then under the schedule option click “Enable“.

Do not do any more changes here, just click the OK button ( all changes will be made on the “Windows Task Scheduler” ).

Step 2: Open Windows “Task Scheduler”, search for the newly created task (it will have Accudemia in the name), and double click on the task to set up your task recurrence intervals (how often the task will run). Click “OK”.

In the “Edit trigger” screen, you can choose the periodicity, and the time for it to run as needed, typically this type of import is set to run daily during the night.
