Tracking Students and Services
Here is what the students do to sign in: 1) When the student comes in, he or she will see the sign-in screen:
The sign-in screen has your welcome message and logo at the top. Under your logo, there is an announcements box that you can use for displaying info such as lab hours. Under the message box, you will see the ID enter box. 2) The student signs in by entering his or her ID number in the ID entry box. Most colleges use the student's social security number. The entry can be made with the keyboard or by swiping the student ID in an optional ID reader.
ID Reader 3) If this is the student's first visit, AccuTrack displays the "New User" screen. This screen asks for the student's name and contact info. If you like, you can set up this screen to also collect demographics or profile data. The New User screen looks like this:
Students enter some info and make a few selections then click on "Next". 3) AccuTrack displays the Activities screen to ask the student for the reason of the visit. The screen displays a list of activities that you create to reflect the services offered (e.g. tutored classes). Here is an example Activities screen.
The student selects the appropriate activity then clicks on "Done". This completes the sign-in process. AccuTrack records the entered info and the date and time of the visit (from the computer's clock). When the same student comes in for another visit, the sign-in process is even simpler! Since AccuTrack already knows the student's name and profile data, it will skip the New User screen and will show the Activities screen instead. AccuTrack will even highlight the Activity the student selected during the last visit, so if the student is using the same service, he only needs to click on "Done", and the sign-in is complete. To sign out, the student only needs to enters his ID again. AccuTrack will record the date and time and will sign the student out. |
