Social Network Settings

How to Access: Administration > Control Panel > Social Network Settings

Purpose: This area of the Control Panel sets how the users interact with the Accudemia Social Wall.

This section provides basic settings to enable or disable this feature.

Channel Creation

This section allows you to select which items are available to the different types of users on your account. In addition, you can choose the order that these items appear on the social wall.

Posts

This option allows you to let your users tag other people.

Global Channels

This option allows you to share your university groups with other universities.

Email Notifications

These settings control what actions send an email notification to users. Social Network Settings - Email Notifications

  • Send tagged notification - If checked, an email notification will be sent to a person when tagged in a post or comment.
  • Send addition to channel notification - If checked, an email notification will be sent to a person when added to a channel.
  • Send channel join notification - If checked, an email notification will be sent to a person when they join a channel.
  • Send comment notification - If checked, an email notification will be sent to the poster when a comment is made on their post. Only one such email is sent per day.
  • Send Like notification - If checked, an email notification will be sent when someone gives a Like to their post. Only one such email is sent per day.
  • Send class channel notification - If checked, an email notification will be sent to all students enrolled in a class when the class channel is created.
Note: Everyone that logs into Accudemia has the option to choose their notifications in their personal preferences.

Web Notifications

These settings control what actions show a notification to users in the Accudemia system. Social Network Settings - Web Notifications

  • Send tagged notification - If checked, when a person is tagged, a notification will appear in their Notifications screen.
  • Send addition to channel notification - If checked, when a person is added to a channel, a notification will appear in their Notifications screen.
  • Send channel join notification - If checked, when a person joins a channel, a notification will appear in their Notifications screen.
  • Send comment notification - If checked, when a comment is made on a post, a notification will appear in their Notifications screen.
  • Send Like notification - If checked, when a Like is given on a post, a notification will appear in the poster's Notifications screen.
  • Send class channel notification - If checked, when a class channel is created, a notification will appear in the Notifications screen of all students enrolled in that class.
