Compass

How to Access: General > Compass

Purpose: This page is used to create, edit, and manage Compass Categories.

AccuCampus supports success initiatives by showing concise/relevant information through the Campus Compass, accessible through the included AccuCampus student-facing mobile app or through the website.
This feature uses language that students immediately recognize and enables them to discover the correct resource quickly.

Campus Compass
Select Category - Select the Compass Category from the list to see further details and see what services relate to this Compass Category.

Compass Categories Buttons & List Options


Select the different Services from the list to see the Location where these services are offered.
View Locations - Use this option to see all locations where this Service is offered.

Locations where this service is available


This is the list of Locations where the Service is available. Notice that in the Location list, there are two buttons per row, are Make Appointment and View Walk-in Time:

  • Make Appointment- Select this option to make an appointment for this Service and this Location.
  • View Walk-in Time-Click this button to see availability for walk-ins(more details in next section)
  • Visit Website- Click this button to be directed to the Location website. Notice that this option might show or not depending on if there was a website specified for such Location or not.
  • Send email- Click this button to send an email to the Location personnel. Notice that this option might show or not depending on if there was an email specified for such Location.
Walk-In Times

Use this screen to see availability for walk-ins in some Services. Follow the three step-sequence as specified in the screenshot.

  • Search by Staff- Click this button to search the Staff available for walk-in using the options specified above.
  • Search by Date-Click this button to search the Dates available for walk-in using the options specified above.

Notice that when you execute the search, by Staff or by Date, the information will show below(Section 3 in the screenshot)

Make Appointment

Way to Access: Appointments > Make Appointment
Purpose: To Schedule a Student with a Tutor or Advisor for an appointment.

Make Appointment Buttons

When you get to this section, several buttons are helpful when making Appointments:

  • Create Manually - Use this option to select all the options manually to create the Appointment.
  • View All - This option takes you to View All the appointments already created.

Make Appointment Options

  • Schedule by Service - This option lets you pick the Service that the Student wants help with before selecting the other required appointment options.
  • Schedule by Location - This option lets you pick the Center that the Student wants help with before selecting the other required appointment options.

Schedule (Appointment) by Service

Use this option to select the Service first to see what Locations offer help with the selected Service.

There are two ways to search for the **Service**; you can search for the **Service** in the search box or click one of the suggested **Services** options.

  1. Once the Service is selected, you see a list of Location that offer this Service.

  1. Now for each Location shown for that Service there are several options:
  • Make Appointment- Click this button to create an Appointment in such Location, Note other options are displayed if the Location set up the information; see details below.
  • Send-email- If this Location was configured with an email account, this link would show as a way to contact the Location.
  • Visit Website- If this Location was configured with a website URL, this link would show as a way to navigate to such website belonging to the Location.

Make Appointment(this is one of many ways to create appointments)


  • Location- Use this option to select the Location.
  • Semester- Use this option to set the Semester information.
  • Period- Use this option to set the Start-Date and End-Date.
  • Student-Use this option to select the Student from the list(Depending on your role, you will see more or fewer list entries)
  • Service- Select the Service or Services.
  • Event(optional)- Select the Event as needed.

SEARCH BY STAFF- Select this option to search for the Staff who meets the conditions set above; a new screen will show with the names, click on one of them as needed:

After clicking on one of the tutors, a new screen will show underneath to select a block of time available, select one as needed:

After selecting the block of time, a screen will show with the Appointment ready to be saved.

SEARCH BY DATE- Select this option to search for Available Dates for ALL tutors that meet the filters mentioned above.

If you choose to use selection by dates, a new screen will show with all available tutors AND their available blocks of times, click a block of time below:

In this video, we can see the different options in the Compass; firstly, we select the category we need help with. The system shows all services related to the class, and then we need to choose the Location so we can make an appointment, visit the website, or any other action we prefer.
